The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Ltd (HKSTP) has teamed up with Siemens to launch the first Smart City Digital Hub in Hong Kong Science Park. The new hub will initially consist of a smart mobility test bed and a smart energy lab to accelerate the development of smart city related digital analytic applications. Opened later this year, the hub will be powered by Siemens' open source cloud-based IoT operating system MindSphere, which has integrated data analytics and connectivity capabilities. The platform is designed to provide infrastructure providers and start-ups a platform to make use of data to develop innovations tackling common city challenges.
